Don't You Think Dark Lips Are Spoiling Your Personality

Share
Dark lips aren’t necessarily a bad thing! Everyone has a different natural lip color — it’s as varied as skin color. Some people have pink lips, others have lips that are light, but others are darker.. In fact, the lips contain the skin pigment melanin, just like any part of the body. In dark people, the lips contain more melanin, and therefore the red or pink color, which is actually the blood in the blood vessels in the lips, is not as noticeable or prominent.
There is no real way to change the actual color of your lips if they are naturally dark. All people do not have pink lips — pink lips are just another beauty myth like a number of hair and skin myths, and the color of the lips is as varied as skin color itself.
First of all, have your lips always been dark? If you went from pink lips to dark lips very rapidly, and they don’t seem to be changing back, it could be a sign of an underlying health problem. If this is the case, visit a doctor for a check up. But if your lips have always been dark, you might want to try a couple of these methods to lighten lips:
Home Remedies to Make Lips Pink:
  • There are several simple home remedies to make lips look pinker. You should make sure to remove dirt particles, oil and dead skin cells that accumulate on the lips throughout the day.
  •  You may gently wash your lips with some cold water every night before going to bed for this purpose. You may also wipe your lips very gently with a ball of cotton wool soaked in chilled rose water to make your lips look softer and pinker.
  • Mix a pinch of turmeric powder with teaspoon of cold milk or milk cream and massage your lips with this paste every day for five minutes. This will make your lips look naturally red and supple.
  • Massaging the lips with some glycerin on a daily basis also helps restore to the lips their original color.
  • One of the most popular solutions for solving the problem of dark lips is to smear them with a little honey every night before going to bed. This nourishes the skin cells of the lips and makes them look brighter naturally.
  • For another remedy, mix a teaspoon each of almond oil and lemon juice and apply this mixture on the lips every day. Leave it on till it dries and then wash your lips with cold water. You may also add a little powdered sugar on a thin slice of lime and rub your lips with it very gently. This acts as a natural exfoliating and bleaching agent that makes lips look smoother and redder.
  • Overnight application of a little clarified butter on the lips also helps redden their color naturally.
  • Soak a few almonds in half a cup of milk overnight, grind them finely to a paste the next morning and apply it on your lips. This helps make lips regain their original color in a few months
  • A mixture of some gram flour, a spoon each of honey and yogurt and a few drops of lime juice may also be used regularly on the lips to make them redder.
  • To get natural pink lips apply beet root juice before bed
  • Grind rose petals and apply on lips to get smooth pink lips.
General Tips for Lips :
  • Watch your diet :For pink lips, first cut down on tea and coffee. Even red wine could be staining your lips the way it can stain teeth. Quit smoking, too. I heard that smoking can definitely make lips look darker.
  • Use sunscreen :Use a lip balm or gloss with sunscreen in it every day. That will keep the sun from tanning your lips any further and could help lighten lips over time. Reapply it often.
  • Apply cold cream or moisturizer or lip balm before applying lipstick.
  • If you have thinner lips use more neutral lip color.
  • If you want different shade of lip color mix two or three lipstick colors together and use as new lip color.
  • If your face is bumpy, irritate or ruddy, or rash don’t use true red color, till you get normal skin. Red will show more attention on the skin.
  • Pale shades makes lip look fuller.
